The Community

A Stable Place to Live

Joy Community provides long-term housing for seniors who would otherwise remain homeless. This is not a temporary program or emergency shelter, but a place designed for stability, dignity, and belonging.

Residents live in thoughtfully designed tiny homes and micro homes that offer safety, comfort, and privacy. Some homes include private bathrooms, while others share centrally located facilities that are clean, accessible, and well maintained. The community is intentionally small so that each resident can be supported in a meaningful way.

Community Life

Joy Community is built around connection and mutual care. More than housing, it is a place where people can rebuild a sense of belonging and rediscover the security of community.

Residents are encouraged to:

  • Share meals and time together
  • Participate in gardening, crafts, and daily activities
  • Build relationships with neighbors
  • Contribute in ways that are meaningful to them

This shared life helps restore the sense of purpose and connection that many residents have lost after years of instability or isolation.

Dignified Independence

Residents maintain independence while receiving the support they need to live safely and comfortably.

Joy Community provides:

  • A secure and stable living environment
  • Utilities and essential services
  • On-site staff and oversight
  • Opportunities for small income or community contribution

Residents contribute a modest program fee, reinforcing personal dignity and shared responsibility within the community.

Who We Serve

Joy Community serves seniors experiencing homelessness due to economic hardship and lack of family support.

This includes:

  • Widows and widowers
  • Seniors living on fixed incomes
  • Seniors displaced by rising housing costs
  • Seniors aging out of shelters or campgrounds

Many residents have worked their entire lives and find themselves without options due to circumstances beyond their control.

Housing Inquiries

Because Joy Community is intentionally small, housing availability is limited.

Individuals or advocates seeking information may contact Joy Community for general inquiries. All placements are based on need, fit, and availability, and space cannot be guaranteed.
