Joy Community exists to provide a place of safety, dignity, and joy for homeless seniors who lack family support and financial stability.
Our mission is rooted in the belief that seniors deserve a stable home, meaningful community, and the opportunity to live their remaining years with peace and purpose.
Our Vision
We envision a community where abandoned and forgotten seniors are no longer invisible.
Joy Community is designed to be a place where residents are known, valued, and supported. It is not a transitional program, but a long-term home.
Our Story
Joy Community was born out of decades of direct work with people experiencing homelessness. Over time, it became clear that shelters and short-term programs were increasingly filled with seniors who had nowhere else to go.
Many had worked their entire lives. Many had lost spouses or family. Most were living on fixed incomes that could not sustain housing in today’s economy.
Joy Community was created to address this gap and offer a long-term solution.
Faith and Purpose
Joy Community is faith motivated and community focused.
While inspired by biblical principles of caring for widows, the elderly, and the vulnerable, Joy Community serves without discrimination and welcomes support from individuals and organizations of all backgrounds.
